ABOUT US

Tremadog Garden Centre was started in 1985 by the Shutes family following the sale of 'Farmers Yard', their business in Pwllheli. Keen gardeners, they realised that the supply of shrubs, plants and supplies was lacking in the area and the nearest sources of any size were in the Conwy Valley. The centre was established on the site of the old Red Garage Workshops which were ideal for the purpose.
With the popularity of TV gardening features in the 80's and 90's, the business went from strength to strength and is now the area's premier source for all gardening supplies, to the trade as well as retail, and offering a comprehensive FREE delivery service throughout Gwynedd, Anglesey, Conwy & Ceredigion.
Ian Shutes withdrew from the firm to run Bodnant Garden Nurseries in 1995 and continues to work for the company as a consultant. Cynthia Shutes retired in 2013. The business is now run by Christopher Shutes ably assisted by the long-serving staff.
With the combined experience of principals and staff of the growing conditions and requirements of the area, they are well-placed to advise on all aspects of local horticulture in Welsh or English.
